ACI 562-21 Concrete Repair Code

This presentation will discuss some of the key technical aspects of ACI CODE-562-21, Assessment, Repair, and Rehabilitation of Existing Concrete Structures, through the eyes of a practitioner.  Key aspects such as structural evaluation, structural safety, design considerations, repair strengthening systems requirements, and fire considerations will be discussed, with emphasis on code requirements and concepts that are most impactful to users of the code.

Dr. Alkhrdaji has been involved in more than 500 projects involving structural repair and strengthening – many of which have received awards from ACI, PTI and ICRI. He is an active member of several professional committees including ACI Committee 440 (FRP Strengthening) and ACI Committee 562 (Repair Code) and ACI 216 (Fire Resistance). Tarek has written more than 40 papers and articles on repair and strengthening of structures and he is the current chair of ACI Subcommittee 562-F (Fire) and ICRI Committee 330 (Strengthening and Stabilization).
