This presentation was designed to aid architects, engineers, general contractors, and concrete installers through advancing an understanding of architectural concrete and the complexities it entails. From conceptual design through the build process there are many stops along the way which will dictate the outcome of architectural concrete. Establishing systems of operation predicated upon the successful completion of architectural finishes can provide a framework to operate within. However, quality control encompassing the workers in the field, quality of formwork erection and quality of concrete all require daily management and extensive planning. Generally speaking, planning architectural concrete through a schedule does little more than apply pressure to hit concrete placement dates. Whereas a schedule should include the complexities of formwork construction, placing architectural concrete, ambient temperature, and adequate cure time of architectural concrete. More often than not, schedule is pushed ahead of quality which should start the flashing lights and bell ringing. This presentation will bring subjects to light which may have been previously disregarded or put asidewhile informing all concerned parties of the potential downfalls and how to go about achieving excellence.
A Q and A will be held at the end of presentation for all to ask any questions they may have.
